The kids worked hard at their school work this morning. Abram especially is realizing that the term will be finished for him soon and he has a number of assignments to complete and send back to Canada. He also needs to start studying for finals. It’s been challenging for him to study French without a teacher and with a very inadequate study resource. The other two kids have material to work on but no deadlines or specific assignments that need to be sent back to school so they don’t feel the stress quite as much.
We worked hard at the library this afternoon. Richard is purging the library of old, outdated material that the students don’t really use or shouldn’t be using so we are helping him pull stuff off the shelves and reorganize things. We boxed up multiple sets of old encylopedias etc. We’re also doing a lot of processing and shelving of new material that will be added to the collection.
In the late afternoon, Ernie and Lois took us on a two hour walk over the dried up lake bed in front of the College. The rainy season is about to start here and soon there will be a vast, deep lake in front of the College again. Richard and Ernie are both fanatical bird watchers so that was the point of the venture.
